This is a short version of the user guide that is built into the app. The full guide, which explains every button, opens in the app from the ? icon in the top bar, on the shelf called Guide.
Getting around
The app has seven tabs in a row under the top bar. Tap one, or swipe left and right.
- Home: today's dashboard and quick actions.
- Today: the current day's meals, check-offs and water.
- Search: finds a reference day by what it contains.
- Catalogue: the reference days, your own meals and your own ingredients.
- Calendar: the month and seven other views of your days, and the shopping list.
- Body: profile, goal, measurements and charts.
- Heart: the Polar bands, live values and recorded sessions.
The top bar has two icons. ? opens the Health guide, a library of articles on seven shelves. The gear opens Settings.
The screens are in English or Czech, following the language set for the app in Android. Two things are in Czech in both: the names of the meal slots (snídaně, svačina dopolední, oběd, svačina odpolední, večeře, jiné jídlo: breakfast, morning snack, lunch, afternoon snack, dinner, other) and the names of foods and reference days. They are data from the reference meal plan and the food catalogue; every button and label around them follows the app language. The user guide and nearly all articles of the Health guide are in both languages.
Home
Home is a scrolling list of cards.
- Today at a glance: a table of what you have ticked off, meal by meal, with energy in kJ, protein, fat and carbs, an Eaten row with percentages and a Recommended row. Below it are ten dots: Energy, Protein, Fat, Carbs, Sat. fat, Sugars, Fiber, Salt, Vegetables and Water. Protein, fat, carbs, fibre, vegetables and water are red below 50 %, amber below 90 % and green from 90 %. Energy does the same and turns red again above 130 %. Saturated fat, sugars and salt are green up to 100 %, amber up to 130 % and red above. Salt is judged against 5 g, vegetables against 400 g, water against the goal in your profile.
- Night and Condition: shown when a Polar Loop wrist band has synced the night that ended this morning. See Night and Condition.
- Fast: the running fast, or the way to start one.
- Water: the same card as on Today.
- Week balance: protein and energy per eating day for the current week.
- Last weight and the energy-needs card: your latest weigh-in, and the daily energy needs and intake target worked out from your profile and measurements.
- Your activities: counts whatever you name yourself, such as push-ups or kilometres. You add amounts through the day; the card shows the year's total and, if you set a yearly target, the percentage.
Where the app has no figure, it says so. The built-in meal plan and food catalogue record no salt, so the Salt dot is grey and reads — unless you ate a food you entered or scanned yourself. Catalogue foods also carry no vegetable weight and do not move the Vegetables dot.
Night and Condition
Night states how long you slept, from when to when, and how much was deep sleep and REM. If the band did not record the whole night, the card says so and does not fill in the missing hours.
Condition has five rows: Sleep, Night pulse, HRV, Breathing and Skin temperature. Each shows last night's figure, your own usual range (the average of the last four weeks, give or take one standard deviation) and a mark: a dot inside the range, ▲ or ▼ outside it. The word in the corner follows a fixed rule. Under strain means two or more rows on the side that goes with strain; Rested means two or more on the favourable side and none strained; everything else is As usual. One row out of line never changes the word. A line below suggests what the day is good for, and another gives a bedtime worked out from your wake-up time and the sleep goal set on the band. Nothing notifies you and nothing checks whether you followed either.
Planning and tracking a day
An empty day offers Search reference days and Build day, and Copy previous day once an earlier day has been tracked. A reference day is one whole day of meals; the app ships with a set of them, and you can save your own.
- Map a reference day: open one from Search or Catalogue and tap Use for a day, then pick the date. If the date already has meals, the app asks before it replaces them.
- Build a day: the picker Add food searches four sources: your own foods, named dishes from reference days, single ingredients from reference days, and the NutriDatabaze catalogue with values per 100 g. New ingredient or dish opens the food form.
- Tick off: the checkbox beside an item marks it eaten; the checkbox in a meal's header ticks the whole meal. Only ticked items count as eaten.
- Change: tap an item's name to change its portion. ✕ removes it, with Undo.
The card at the top of a day shows Eaten, Planned and Recommended for energy, protein, fat, carbs, fibre and salt. Its icons copy the day to today, save it as a reference day of your own, or clear it.
If you have chosen a goal on the Body tab and a mapped day's energy does not match the goal's target, the app scales the whole day by one factor and says so on the card, for example Portions adjusted ×1.15. It scales no further than ×0.7 and ×1.4 and tells you when a day still misses the target.
Water and drinks
The Water card shows the day's total against your goal. +250 ml and +500 ml log water in one tap, Other… takes any amount, and Add drink logs a named drink, which also appears in its meal. A home-screen widget shows the running fast or today's energy, a water line and a +250 ml button.
A Cold shower card on Today records one of three states for the day: Had one, Skipped, or no record. Once a week you can enter the water temperature as your own estimate. Nothing is counted or scored.
Food: Search, Catalogue and the scanners
Search finds reference days by an ingredient or dish name; type two characters or more, with or without diacritics, and filter by meal if you like.
Catalogue has three parts: Reference days, Meals (your own dishes, typed in with values or composed from your ingredients) and Ingredients (your own, plus a browser for the NutriDatabaze catalogue).
The food form has two helpers:
- Scan label: photograph the nutrition table on a package. The text is read on the device and the values fill in, with the note Read from label — check the values.
- Scan barcode: the product is looked up online in the Open Food Facts database. If it is unknown, the app says Product not found — try scanning the label.
Every field stays editable after a scan.
Calendar
The Calendar shows your days in eight views, chosen with the buttons under the header.
- Month: a grid with week numbers. A day's dot is green, amber or red by eaten energy against the target, grey for a plan with nothing eaten yet, and in a separate colour for a day a fast covered from midnight to midnight. Days a fast touches wear a ring. Tap a day to open it; tap a week number for the week's statistics.
- Daily: one bar per day, split into fat, carbs and protein; its length is the day's energy.
- Fasting: one row per week, with each fast as a bar as long as it lasted.
- Lights: the ten dots of Home, one strip per day.
- Cold: the cold-shower record, one cell per day.
- Sleep: nights on one shared clock from 18:00 to 12:00, with their phases.
- Condition: the five rows of the Condition card, one row per night.
- Activity: one stripe per day, divided into sleep, sitting and the band's activity classes.
The cart icon opens the Shopping list: everything planned for the next 7 days, added up by name, with Share to send it as text.
Body
- Measurements: on Mondays the app offers a check-in for weight, hips, waist, chest and height; Add measurement does the same at any time. The dialog draws where to put the tape. Past entries can be corrected or deleted.
- Profile: sex, birth year, activity level and daily water goal.
- Goal: optional. Four modes, Losing weight, Maintaining, Building muscle and Gaining weight, and a pace in kg per week. From the goal, your profile and your latest weigh-in the app derives a daily energy target and a split into protein, fat and carbs, and names the estimate the target came from. Three limits bound the target, and the card says when one of them applies: the estimate it starts from, the pace, and a floor at your resting energy needs. Switching a goal changes today and later days, never earlier ones.
- Health metrics: BMI with its WHO class, the normal weight range, waist-to-height and waist-to-hip ratios with their thresholds, basal metabolic rate, daily energy needs and the intake target. Each figure names its date when it is older than the others.
- Measured energy expenditure: an estimate from your weigh-ins and logged intake of the last 28 days. It appears when there are two weigh-ins at least 14 days apart and food ticked off on at least half of the days between.
- Charts: weight, BMI, the two waist ratios, hips, waist, chest, eaten energy, water, fast duration and energy expenditure.
Fasting
The fast screen opens from the Fast card on Home.
- Choose the Planned duration, 36 h or 60 h, and tap Start fast. The app asks for permission to send notifications; if you refuse, the fast runs without them.
- While it runs, the card shows Elapsed, a progress bar and the Planned end. You can change the planned length, correct the start with Edit start, and see a description of the phase the elapsed hours fall in.
- End fast asks when the fast really ended and saves the achieved length to the history.
Two notifications belong to a fast: one at about 24 hours and one when the planned length is reached. A fast you did not start in the app can be recorded later with Fast day on an empty past day. Completed fasts are listed with their achieved and planned hours and can be corrected or deleted.
A day counts as a fasting day only when a fast covers it from midnight to midnight. Such a day is shown in the fast's own colour, not as a red day.
Heart
The Heart tab works with two Polar bands over Bluetooth: the H10 chest belt and the Loop wrist band. Both can take part in one session.
- Put the chest belt on with moistened electrodes; it only transmits while worn.
- Tap Search, then Connect beside your band. The tab needs Android's Nearby devices permission; while it is missing, a card offers Allow Bluetooth.
- The tab shows the current heart rate, the contact status, the last beat interval, the battery, and live charts of heart rate, ECG and motion. Nothing is stored until you record.
- Start recording opens a session. It goes on with the screen off, in another app, and after the app is swiped away, behind the notification Recording heart rate with the actions Marker and Stop. The app's top bar is green while a session is open.
During a session, Add marker stamps a moment that you can label afterwards, and Capture 30 s ECG saves a strip of the raw ECG into the session. If the connection drops, the app reconnects and continues the same session; the gap stays visible.
A finished session shows the heart-rate curve with its markers, average, maximum and minimum, RMSSD over the whole session, the signal quality, a scatter plot of each beat interval against the next with the figures SD1 and SD2, and the ECG strips. The scatter plot is descriptive: the app attaches no thresholds or judgments to it. RMSSD over a whole session is not a recovery or readiness score, and the app does not treat it as one. A low signal quality means the strap was dry or loose.
Session history lists all sessions. Two or three can be compared on one time axis, lined up on a shared track point, a marker or the start. Trend plots one figure per session over time.
Tracks and automatic ECG capture
A track is a list of points on a route. During a recording, tap Learn new track and then Save point here at each spot that matters. Arm the track, and on later recordings the app captures an ECG strip by itself whenever you pass one of its points; the phone gives one short buzz when a strip starts. Tracks need the location permission, which the app asks for only when you tap Allow location. GPS runs only while a recording is active and a track is armed, or while you are teaching a track.
Data from the wrist band
The Loop band records by itself, and the app fetches what it stored: sleep, heart rate through the day and night, steps and activity. Sync starts it by hand; Loop daily sync lets it happen once a day in the background. A sync that finishes cleanly frees the band's memory, and a sync pauses while a recording is running.
Settings, backup and export
- Language, Theme (System, Light, Dark), Colour (the wallpaper's colours or eight palettes) and True black.
- Connection mode while recording: which of your bands may be connected during a session.
- Export data writes all of the app's data into one file where you choose; Import data restores such a file and replaces everything now in the app, after a confirmation that names what is lost.
- Back up now runs the automatic backup, which otherwise runs once a week into the folder
Documents/MyDisweight. The app deletes its own automatic files there after 60 days. - A session can be exported from its page as CSV (one row per second), as a plain list of RR intervals, or as one complete file; Import session in Settings brings such a file back as a new session.
- Share monthly report builds a text summary of the last 30 days.
- About shows the app version and the source of the food data, NutriDatabaze.cz (ÚZEI).
Troubleshooting
- The belt is not found. Wet the electrode strip and put the belt on snugly, check that Bluetooth is on, then search again.
- The Bluetooth permission dialog no longer appears. Use Open settings on the permission card and grant Nearby devices there.
- "Check strap contact", or low signal quality. Re-wet the electrodes and tighten the strap. A nearly empty belt battery shows the same signs.
- No recording notification. Notifications are switched off for the app; the recording itself is not affected.
- A session was deleted by accident. Tap Undo while the message is on screen. Afterwards only a backup file that still holds the session brings it back.
- The app was closed by the system during a recording. Open it again: the session is closed with what had been written, and at most about the last 30 seconds are missing.
- The Salt row reads "—" and the Vegetables dot stays red. The built-in food data has no salt and no vegetable figures. Foods you enter or scan yourself carry both.
What the app deliberately does not do
- No readiness or recovery score. The one exception is the word on the Condition card, which is a word and not a number.
- No streaks and no adherence percentage. The one exception is the Your activities card, which counts what you named yourself.
- No energy burned for a recording. A session reports heart rate and beat intervals, and no kJ figure.
- No uninvited messages. Notifications are limited to what you started yourself: a running recording and the milestones of a fast.
- Raw data is kept. Sessions keep the beat intervals as the band sent them, a dropout stays visible as a gap, and sessions with a poor signal are marked, not hidden.
