Boxed In: privacy policy

What Boxed In stores, what can leave your device, and how to reach us.

Last updated: October 2026

Introduction

Enlyzr Puzzles ("we", "our", or "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information Boxed In stores, where it is kept, and what can leave your device.

Information we collect

Boxed In is designed with privacy in mind. Games against the computer and games on one device send nothing over the network. The app stores what the game needs on your device:

  • Game statistics: Your game scores, wins, losses, and gameplay statistics are stored on your device. So are your achievements and the leaderboard of your best wins. The app also counts the online games you finished in each game mode, to mark the mode you play most; that count stays on your device as well.
  • Preferences: Your game settings and preferences, the colours you chose among them, are stored on your device using Android DataStore.
  • Unfinished game: A game you leave before it ends is saved on your device so you can continue it later. It is not part of any backup.
  • No personal information: We do not collect email addresses, contacts, location, or anything else that identifies you. Online play uses only what the next section lists.
  • No account required: The app does not require user registration or login.

Online play

Online play is optional. While you use it, the app is connected to our game server (mp.enlyzr.info) over an encrypted connection and sends:

  • Display name: the name you choose for online play. The player you are matched with sees it.
  • Player ID: a random identifier created on your device. It lets you return to your game after a lost connection. Other players never see it.
  • Your game: the game mode you pick, a room code you enter, and the moves you make.

The game server keeps a game in its memory only while it is being played. Afterwards nothing of the game is left but its place in a count. As with any internet service, the server receives the internet (IP) address your connection comes from. It uses the address to limit misuse, and the web server's log keeps it for about three months. There are no accounts and there is no chat.

The game server counts how many players are connected and, for each game mode, how many are waiting for an opponent, how many games are being played, and how many were played in the last 7 days. These are numbers only. They are kept in the server's memory, they are not linked to you or to any other player, and the app shows them where you choose a game mode.

Two phones on the same Wi-Fi network can also play without the game server. While you host such a game and wait for a player, your phone announces it on that network with your display name and the game mode, so that the other phone can find it; everybody on that network can see the announcement. The game itself goes directly from phone to phone over an encrypted connection. Nothing of it is sent to us or to the game server.

On Android 17 and later the app may ask for the permission Android calls "Nearby devices". It asks only when the game server itself is on the network your device is on, or when you choose to play with a phone on the same Wi-Fi, and it uses the permission for nothing else.

Data storage

Your game statistics and settings are stored on your device using Android DataStore. The app does not send them to us or to any server.

If you have Android backup turned on, your statistics and settings are included in your device's Google backup and in device-to-device transfers. The player identity used for online multiplayer is excluded from backup.

Third-party services

Boxed In does not integrate any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services, and it has no user accounts. The app does not send any information to third parties: online play goes to our own game server, or straight to the other player's phone when you play on the same Wi-Fi, and nowhere else. Apart from that, the only copy that can leave your device is the Android backup described above, if you have it turned on.

Children's privacy

Boxed In is suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children or from any other user. In online play the other player sees the display name a player has chosen; there is no chat and no other way to exchange messages.

Data deletion

You can delete the data stored on your device by:

  • Clearing the app's data through your device's Settings > Apps > Boxed In > Clear Data
  • Uninstalling the application from your device

Either one removes the data on your device. If Android backup is turned on, the backed-up copy is managed through your device's backup settings.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in the "Last updated" date at the top of this policy. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
