Introduction
Enlyzr ("we", "our", or "us") provides MyChronoWorks, an Android app for timers, stopwatches, alarms, game clocks and a world clock. This Privacy Policy explains what the app stores, where it is kept, which permissions it uses, and what can leave your device.
MyChronoWorks has no internet permission, so it cannot open a network connection. It has no server, no account and no sign-in, and it sends nothing to us.
Information the app stores
Everything the app keeps is stored in the app's own private storage on your device:
- Your jobs and groups: A job is what the app calls a timer you run: a row of phases with cues such as a beep or spoken words. The app stores the jobs and groups you make, with their names, icons, colours, schedules and the words you typed for spoken cues and notifications. It also stores the values you last used when you started a job or a template.
- Sound files you pick: When you choose an audio file as the bell of a cue, the app copies that file into its own storage so that the cue keeps working.
- Run history: For every finished or cancelled run the app records when it started and ended, its pauses, and a log of each phase change, lap and cue with the time it happened. Finished games on a game clock, with the time of each move, and finished tally counts, with the time of each press, are kept in the same history. You choose how long the history is kept: forever, one year or 90 days.
- Runs in progress: The state of running jobs, of a game clock in play and of a tally count in progress, so that they survive the app being closed or the phone restarting.
- World clocks: The cities you added, the names you gave them, places you entered yourself by name and coordinates, your working hours for the planner, and how the Clocks tab is set up.
- Countdowns: Each event's name, date and optional time, and whether you asked for a reminder.
- Saved time controls: The time controls you saved for the game clocks.
- Settings: Theme, accent, language, time format, high-visibility text, how long history is kept, the tab you had open, which job each home-screen widget shows, and a note that the battery prompt has been shown.
The app does not ask for your name, e-mail address, contacts or location, and it does not create an identifier for you or your device. The world clock works from a list of cities that is built into the app; it never uses your location.
The microphone
The app asks for the microphone permission only when you choose to use sound: when you give a job a sound trigger, so that a clap, a whistle or a loud noise starts it, or when you tap the microphone line on the run screen, so that a clap records a lap or skips to the next phase. If you never do either, you are never asked.
While it listens, the app measures how loud the sound is and how it changes, to recognise a clap, a whistle or a sustained loud noise. The sound is processed in memory, moment by moment. It is not recorded, not stored and not sent anywhere.
Listening happens only while the app is open on the screen in front of you. It ends when a sound trigger has heard its sound, when you tap to stop it, and when you leave the app. The microphone is never used in the background.
What leaves your device
The app itself sends nothing: it has no internet permission. Data leaves the app only in the following ways. Each is your own action or a setting of your Android device.
- Sharing: "Share" on a job hands a small file with that job to the app you pick in Android's share sheet. "Share CSV" in History and in Insights, "Export CSV" in the tally counter and "Share" on a meeting time in the world clock hand text to the app you pick. What happens to it there is up to that app.
- Export and import: "Export jobs" writes all your jobs and groups to one file in the place you choose. "Import jobs" reads such a file, shows what it contains and adds it only when you confirm.
- Android backup: The app allows Android's own backup. If you have Android backup turned on, the data listed under "Information the app stores" is included in your device's Google backup and in device-to-device transfers. Android does this, not the app, and you control it in your device's backup settings.
- Spoken cues: The words a cue speaks, lap and phase announcements and the talking clock are handed to the text-to-speech engine installed on your device. That engine is a separate app, chosen in Android's settings, with its own provider and its own privacy terms.
Notifications, home-screen widgets and the Quick Settings tile show job names, times, countdown names and your clocks on your own device. A ringing alarm is also shown over the lock screen, with the name of the job.
Permissions
- Notifications: To show running jobs with their controls, cue notifications, ringing alarms and countdown reminders. On Android 13 and later the app asks when you first start a job.
- Foreground service: To keep jobs and game clocks counting while the app is not on screen. A notification is shown the whole time.
- Run at startup: After the phone restarts, to continue jobs that were running, set scheduled jobs and countdown reminders again, and refresh the binary clock and countdown widgets.
- Alarms and reminders (exact alarms): So that cues, scheduled jobs, snoozes and countdown reminders happen at the right moment while the phone sleeps.
- Full-screen alarms: So that a ringing alarm can turn the screen on and offer Dismiss and Snooze over the lock screen.
- Vibration: For cues that vibrate.
- Prevent the phone from sleeping: So that the phone stays awake for the moment in which a cue sounds or an alarm rings. It gives access to no data.
- Microphone: Only for sound triggers, as described under "The microphone".
The app has no permission to read your files, photos, contacts, calendar or location. It sees a file only when you pick it yourself in Android's file picker: an audio file for a cue, or a jobs file to import. Torch cues switch the phone's flashlight on and off; this needs no camera permission, and the app takes no pictures and no video.
A cue can depend on a condition. To decide it, the app looks at three things at the moment the cue fires: whether headphones are connected, the battery level, and whether the ringer is silent or Do Not Disturb is on. The run's log records which way the cue went. The values themselves are not kept.
Third-party services
MyChronoWorks does not integrate any third-party advertising, analytics, crash-reporting, payment or account service. The libraries it is built with are standard Android and Kotlin building blocks (AndroidX, Jetpack Compose, Material Components, and the Kotlin coroutine and serialization libraries). The app does not send any information to third parties.
Children's privacy
MyChronoWorks is a general tool and is not directed at children. We do not collect personal information from children or from any other user: nothing the app stores is sent to us.
Data deletion
You can delete data inside the app:
- A job or a group: Open it and choose Delete. For a job, an Undo is offered for a few seconds.
- History: "Delete all sessions" in History removes every recorded run. If you set History to keep one year or 90 days, older runs are removed automatically.
- Countdowns, clocks and saved time controls: Each can be deleted where it is listed.
- A tally count or a game in progress: Reset discards it without recording it.
Two kinds of files stay until you clear the app's data: the copies of sound files you picked for cues, and, in the app's cache, the file made when you share a job.
You can delete everything the app stores on your device by:
- Clearing the app's data through your device's Settings > Apps > MyChronoWorks > Storage > Clear storage
- Uninstalling the application from your device
Either one removes the data on your device. If Android backup is turned on, the backed-up copy is managed through your device's backup settings. Files you exported or shared are no longer in the app's hands; delete them where you put them.
